Onboard WhatsApp agents on Connectora in one week

Hiring for WhatsApp is not the same as hiring for email. Tone is shorter, urgency is higher, and Meta’s session rules punish guesswork. Throwing new agents at a shared phone without a curriculum produces double replies, template mistakes, and customers who feel like they are talking to a call center that never trained anyone.

This one-week plan onboards agents onto Connectora Sync with the shared inbox, templates, tags, and escalations they need before they touch live revenue threads alone.

Day 1–2: Inbox mechanics and tone

  • Log in, set availability, and understand assignment (round-robin vs owned threads)
  • Read five resolved chats—note greeting, brevity, and how agents used the customer’s name
  • Practice claiming a conversation and releasing it correctly when escalating
  • Learn where order context appears for Shopify or WooCommerce orders

Shadow a senior agent for at least one full shift. New hires should type drafts, not send, until a supervisor signs off on tone.

Day 3–4: Templates and the 24-hour window

Agents must internalize one rule: inside the customer care window, reply naturally; outside it, use an approved utility template or wait for inbound. Connectora surfaces window status—train people to look before they send.

  1. Walk through your top five utility templates and when each applies.
  2. Role-play a closed-window shipping question—correct template, no free-text shortcut.
  3. Review what happens when a customer replies (session opens; agent continues in thread).

Day 5: Tags, notes, and escalations

Tags are how supervisors see patterns: VIP, return, COD pending, complaint. Teach agents to tag at resolution, not only at open. Internal notes should answer “what would the next shift need to know?” without dumping a novel.

Escalation is not failure—it is handing off context so the customer does not repeat their story.

Day 6–7: Supervised live queue

New agents handle live chats with a supervisor reviewing sends in real time. Cap concurrent threads low—two is enough on week one. Debrief daily: what was fast, what was wrong, what template almost got misused.

One week is enough when the curriculum is specific to Connectora Sync, not generic “customer service.” Use the docs as your reference library and invite agents to a sandbox workspace before they join production shifts.
